With Words You Kill.

Soft verbal irony
goes a long way
to beating down
my heart.
Though,
I'm not sure
this vicious sarcasm
counts as satire
because
it slices too deep
and leaves me
face down
on
cold
wet
concrete.

  2. Well said. Words really stick in our memories, so we should try to pass out kind ones.

  3. Juice Box, it is so wonderful to see you at the Pantry - havent crossed paths with you for a while. This poem is written so well, and clearly shows the effect harsh words can have. We do need a kinder world:) Glad to know you are still writing!
